About Me

Ami Patel (she/her) is a queer, diasporic South Asian multi-genre writer and artist. She is a two-time Voices of our Nations Arts (VONA) alum, a Tin House YA Fiction alum, and a Visual Communications Armed with a Camera Fellow. Her work can be found online and in print.

Ami is a double Bruin with a BA in International Development Studies and an MA in Asian American Studies from UCLA. She has worked at nonprofits, a foundation, a public utility solar program, a chocolate company, and a theater arts festival.

Ami has previously lived in California & Hawai’i. She now lives in Portland, OR, which gives her plenty of verdant delight and poetic inspiration.
